Jurats

A jurat notarization is a sworn statement of authenticity made by a notary public in order to verify the identity of a signer. It's a piece of paper that says the person who signed it is who they say they are, has the power to sign the document and is in the area where the notary public is allowed to work. This process allows for legal proof that a person was in fact in the presence of the notary public at the time of the signing. This can be helpful in a number of situations, such as estate planning, court cases, and other times when a person needs to prove who they are.
